The pair of contrasting images I have produced convey two different perspectives. In the first image the subject is optimistic yet still naïve, she sees a world full of opportunity but lacks the experience and knowledge to fully understand it. To contrast that, the second image expresses a more realistic attitude, she is more experienced and thus more skeptical. She’s wiser, stronger, yet still vulnerable.
This photography project was a response to a Massey University brief where we had to create a pair of portraits that portray contrasting emotions, using studio lighting techniques.
